Introduction to Battle of the Books
Hi! I'm Mrs. Dawson your Media Coordinator at SAMS. I'm thrilled that you are interested in being part of this years Battle of the Books Team. I started enjoying books at your age. My favorite was Gone With the Wind. I like comparing books to movies, however, I always seem to enjoy the books more. I guess it's because I create how I think the characters should look in my mind and when the film is made the character never seems to be just right. In addition, the movies don't seem to add alot of the details you get from reading. Let's have a great year and make the BOB fun!!! My first book that I'm reading is Schooled. Hello my name is Mitchell Perdue I enjoy footbal baseball and my favorite baseball team is Boston Red Sox my favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys Im reading Survivingh The applewhites it is a great book you should read it when im done

ReplyDeletei really enjoy reading The Outsiders. It is about a 14- year old boy who's parents died and he is forced to live with his brothers, named Darry and Sodapop. I will not tell you anymore you will just have to read it yourself.

ReplyDeletehi its me again. Schooled is a weird and awesome book at the same time. I still can't belive he drove a school bus with out a liences. CRAZY:)

ReplyDeleteIm reading Forged By Fire and so far ot is about a little boy named Gerald and his mom is a druggie that leaves him at home all the time it is funny and he almost gets burned down with the house because he is playing with a liter like it is a torch with his Gi joe

ReplyDeleteIn the book to kill a mickingbird there is a little girl named jean louise finch but everybody is calling her scout and she has a brother, jem and their fathers name is atticus and he is defending a colored man, Tom Robinson,............

I am now reading Schooled and it is kinda sad because Cap is going to a new school and there is this one guy who is mean by playing a trick on Cap to make him class president.

ReplyDeleteOk the boy ran away and so he killed someone in a fight. He went to a city a long way away. His friend was with him so he survived. The only thing was the place caught on fire.He was sent to the hospital immedantly. His friends were severly burnt when they rescued small children.
ReplyDeleteIs anybody online with battle of the books? And travis you really need to learn how to type the words correctly. Schooled is getting better and better because when Cap goes there he is elected president and Cap is really cool because he is modern and a hippie person. Here is one of his quates."Why do we need a locker? Why do we have to lock things up?"

ReplyDeletei just finished the book "to kill a mockingbird" i thought it was boring in the beginning but in chapter 16 or 17 it started getting interesting i think it is an amazing book to read it took me a while to get into it. and now im reading "the outsiders" ive started to read it once but i stopped and i didnt go back to it but then i remembered i had it at home and i saw that it was on the battle of the books list and i started to read it again its good so far.
ReplyDeleteHi I guess i have not said much about myself I take piano lessons and I am a great swimmer. i am eleven years old. I live on 722 Newbern Avenue in Asheboro, North Carolina.Well I look forward to hearing from everybody!As soon as i return The Outsiders whoever reads it will be sooooooooooooo lucky.The suspense is so high all throughout the book. I would give you a summary but you should just read it for yourself. Ill see you all at the battle of the books meeting next week. thank you Mrs. Dawson for posting our homework for the past two weeks. If you want to know more about the outsiders either read it yourself or respond back okay!
ReplyDeleteI am reading "Milkweed". I am at the part where Misha and Janina are trying to see who Mr. Milgrom thinks is the best. Well, Janina keeps asking and Misha is just standing there listening and Mr. Milgrom says that they're both the best. And then Janina drops a turnip on Misha's head and Misha tells her not to treat food like that when it is so hard to get it. Im still kinda wondering how she got that turnip and why is she throwing it instead of eating it when she is starving,but thats why I just keep reading so that I can find out.
ReplyDeleteNow i am on page 51 of schooled. I love it so much. the best part so far is when the main character,Capricorn has to try to get along in a school that is so different than his farm back at home. I feel so sorry for his grandmother, rain who has a broken hip.I hope she gets better soon. Whoever is posting right now send a message back.
